Turning off Dynamic ReImport of Shapefiles
Sometimes a Shapefile is imported with "Reimport When Project Loads", but later it is determined that this option is not desired.
Dynamic ReImport is considered to be a "Template" feature, and is controlled through the Template Manager. Open the Template Manager from the "File/Template Manager..." menu item. The lower half of the window shows "Auto Import Operators" . Any ReImport Shapefiles will be listed here.
To make a ReImport shapefile become a part of the project and database, saved each time with the project, select the corresponding item in the list, check "Embed Auto-Import Operator's Components in Project" and click "Apply Changes".
To remove a ReImport shapefile entirely, select the corresponding item in the list, check "Remove Auto-Import Operator from Project Permanently" and click "Apply Changes".
